About these terms
These terms form the agreement between you and Riftjaw when you create an account or use the service at riftjaw.com. "You" means the person or organisation that holds the account. If you accept these terms on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to bind it.
We have written them in plain English. Where something is not covered here, our privacy statement and, if you signed one, the data processing agreement also apply.
The service
Riftjaw is an online dashboard for building and working your own lead database. You can import lists, add fields, organise records into segments, send email campaigns, publish forms and export your data. Each account runs on its own private server with its own database.
Riftjaw does not sell contact data and does not crawl the web on your behalf. The data in your account is the data you put in.
Your account
To use Riftjaw you create an account with a valid email address and a password of at least 10 characters. You are responsible for:
- keeping your login details private and choosing a strong password;
- everything that happens under your account, including actions by users you give access;
- keeping your account details, such as your email and billing information, up to date.
If you suspect someone else has access to your account, change your password and use log out everywhere in settings, then let us know through the contact page.
Acceptable use
You may use Riftjaw for lawful business prospecting and customer contact. You agree that you will not:
- send spam, bulk unsolicited mail that breaks the law, or messages that mislead recipients about who you are;
- import or process data that you are not allowed to hold or use;
- ignore unsubscribes or objections, or try to work around the opt-out register;
- use the service for content that is illegal, fraudulent, harassing or infringes the rights of others;
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other accounts;
- resell or rent out access to the service without our written permission.
You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your prospecting, including data protection and email marketing rules. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, especially where it harms recipients, other customers or the reputation of our sending infrastructure. Where reasonable, we tell you first and give you the chance to fix it.
Your data belongs to you
Everything you import or create in Riftjaw, such as lead files, contacts, notes, forms, entries and campaigns, remains yours. We do not claim any ownership of it.
You give us permission to store and process that data only as far as needed to provide the service to you. We never sell your data and never use your lead data for our own purposes. For personal data in your lead files, you are the controller and we act as your processor, as explained on the GDPR page.
You confirm that you have the right to use the data you put into Riftjaw and that you have a lawful basis for contacting the people in it.
Plans and billing
Riftjaw has a free plan and paid plans. The current plans and prices are on the pricing page.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance, depending on the plan you choose.
- There are no credits and no fees per record.
- You can cancel any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
- We do not refund partial months or unused parts of a period, unless the law requires it.
- We may change prices. We tell you in advance, and a new price applies from your next billing period.
If a payment fails, we let you know and may limit the account to the free plan until the payment is made. Your data is not deleted because of a failed payment alone.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Riftjaw available and fast, but we cannot promise that it will never be interrupted. Maintenance, updates and problems outside our control can cause downtime. Where we can, we plan maintenance at quiet times.
We keep improving the product. Features may be added, changed or removed. If we remove something important that you pay for, we tell you in advance.
Keep your own copy of important data. You can export your contacts, form entries and original import files as CSV at any time.
Liability
We provide Riftjaw with care, but as a tool. To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, lost revenue or lost opportunities;
- we are not liable for the results of your campaigns, for whether mail is delivered, or for the accuracy of data you import or of email addresses derived from a domain, which are guesses based on common patterns;
- our total liability in any twelve month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence.
Ending the agreement and taking your data
You can stop at any time by cancelling your plan or deleting your account in settings. Before you delete your account, export what you want to keep. Deleting an account removes its data and cannot be undone.
We may end the agreement if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or with reasonable notice if we stop offering the service. In the second case, you get time to export your data first.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When a change matters for you, we tell you by email or in the dashboard before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the new terms apply. The date at the top shows when the terms last changed.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of the country where Riftjaw is registered. Disputes go to the competent court in that country, unless mandatory law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
